Highlights from the February 22, 2018 Regular School Board Meeting
The February 22, 2018, regular meeting of the School Board opened with a performance of the National Anthem by the Armstrong Elementary School Band, under the direction of Erica Hirt.
The School Board recognized the Fairfax County NAACP on their 100th Anniversary, and also acknowledged National Social Work Month, National Foreign Language Week, and Read Across America Day.
The Board unanimously passed a Resolution on Gun Violence Prevention.
The Board approved a standard boundary adjustment of some Jackson Middle School students to Thoreau Middle School, the Strategic Plan Goal 3: Premier Workforce report, and the establishment of a new Level IV advanced academic center program at Bush Hill Elementary School.
The Board adopted revisions to Policy 2100.3, the Student and Staff Health and Wellness Policy.
The next regular business meeting of the School Board will be on Thursday, March 8, 2018.
