Herndon HS Student Named Distinguished Teen Volunteer by Town of Herndon

Teen Volunteer with elected officialsHerndon High student Claire has been recognized by the Town of Herndon as the Distinguished Teen Volunteer for 2019.  A freshman, Claire contributed more than 400 hours of service since 2017 at events such as the homecoming parade, Passport to Fun, and Naturefest.  As a Girl Scout, she hosted the annual Girl Scout Thinking Day, ensuring that the multicultural event would continue for more than 150 girls in 13 troops.  She currently serves as Scribe and Chair of the Youth Advisory Committee, as well as the primary social media coordinator. She was honored by Herndon Mayor Lisa Merkel, members of the Herndon Town Council,  Congressman Gerry Connolly, Virginia Senator Jennifer Boysko and Del.
