The Foundation for Fairfax County Public Schools (the Foundation) today announced that Ferrovial has contributed $67,500 to the Access for All Fund to support students in need during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Created by the Foundation in response to the pandemic and school closings, the Access for All fund is supporting Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) by assisting local food banks with food distribution to FCPS families, providing grocery gift cards to homeless and unaccompanied youth, delivering school supply kits, and providing technology access for distance learning.

Elizabeth Murphy, executive director of the Foundation, said, “We so appreciate organizations like FAM Construction and I-66 Express Mobility Partners, who have really stepped up during this time to support our students and families.” Learn how you can support the Foundation’s Access for All program online.
In Northern Virginia, Cintra and Ferrovial Construction are leading entities for I-66 Express Mobility Partners and FAM Construction LLC who are, respectively, developing and building the Transform 66 Outside the Beltway Project.

The grant is part of an international campaign led by Ferrovial, the Ferrovial Together Covid-19 Fund, which is raising up to €10 million to support the fight against the pandemic.  The campaign is primarily focused on the United States, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

“A majority of our employees and subcontractors live, work, and are raising their families in Northern Virginia,” commented Pablo Molla, chief executive officer of FAM Construction LLC.  “Supporting those families and children who are most in need is the most important contribution we can make to the community we serve.”

“We have been working with the Foundation over the past year to enhance educational opportunities in the County’s classrooms,” stated Javier Gutierrez, chief executive officer of I-66 Express Mobility Partners.  “Now that learning has shifted to outside the classroom, we are humbled by the opportunity to support the Foundation in its vital work during these extraordinary times.”
