FCPS Students Win Awards in the 2021-22 VHSL Creative Writing Contest

Students from four Fairfax County public schools have won awards in the 2021-22 Virginia High School League (VHSL) Creative Writing Contest. 

Mikenna Corcoran from Madison High School received the first-place award in the Essay category for the entry, “Whoosh,” and Rowan McMichael from McLean High School was awarded third place for the entry, “Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder.”

Miriam Fabrycky from Woodson High School received the first-place award in the Short Story category for the entry, “Pain d’Epice.”

Arya Adake from Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) won second place in the Poetry category for the entry, “By Women, For Women,” and Taylor Konditi from McLean High School received the third-place poetry award for the entry “My Throat is a Graveyard.”

In the Folder category, TJHSST received the second-place award, Madison High School was third, McLean High School was fourth, and Woodson High School was fifth.
