Fairfax HS Students Enhance Daniels Run Park Trails
A team of 40 people comprised of members of the Fairfax High cross country team, Boy Scouts from Troop 577, and parents built two quarter mile-long, six foot wide trails through Daniels Run Park. They cleared fallen logs, trimmed back undergrowth, and spread mulch in the area. Fairfax High junior Vishwa Arun organized the activity to fulfill his Eagle Scout project. Combined with existing trails, Fairfax High’s cross country team will now have two half-mile loops to use for interval training; the trails can also be used for future 5K fun runs. Math teacher and cross country coach Mark Whaley served as the faculty sponsor. Contact news liaison Erin Molek at email@example.com.
