Chantilly High, TJHSST Win 2017-18 Wells Fargo Cup for Academics

Chantilly High School and Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST) have been named winners of the 2017-18 Wells Fargo Cup for Academics for Group 6A and Group 5A, respectively.  The award is administered by the Virginia High School League (VHSL); winners are selected for each of the VHSL groupings.  Chantilly High and TJHSST are Fairfax County public schools.

This is TJHSST’s fourth cup in six years. The 2017-18 win is Chantilly High’s third cup in five years

Winners are determined by a point system based on performance in VHSL state competitions. Schools can earn academic activity points for outstanding participation in scholastic bowl, creative writing, theater, forensics, debate, newspaper, yearbook, and magazine.

In Group 6A, Lake Braddock Secondary School and McLean High School tied for third place.  Robinson Secondary School finished fifth, Annandale High School and Oakton High School tied for seventh, and West Potomac High School finished tenth.
