Family Literacy

The Family Literacy program supports residents with limited English skills, building literacy and community connections for students and their families.

The Family Literacy Program is part of the Office for ESOL Services in Fairfax County Public Schools. It is designed to empower and connect English Learner (EL) families to their community and with their children’s school. Adult learners acquire basic English language skills while learning how to understand, participate, and support in their children’s education in Fairfax County Public Schools.

Our Vision

A world where all families are valued and have access and equitable opportunities to engage in and support their children’s education. Our goal is to provide tools that empower families and promote children’s success.

Our Mission

Our mission is to build culturally responsive connections between families and their children’s schools to ensure equitable and engaging partnerships.
