School Outreach

Mason Crest ES

Dear Mason Crest Families,

To support our continuing distance learning instructional program, Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) has given us permission to distribute laptops to families of students in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades. With this news, we are thrilled to announce that we will be distributing laptops to students in grades K-2 on Tuesday, May 26 from 9:00a.m.-12:00p.m. and 1:00p.m.-4:00p.m.

Please note that:

•             We have a limited number of laptops to distribute

•             Each family may secure ONE laptop, regardless of the number of students form the family that attend Mason Crest

•             Siblings of students in grades 3-5 who have already received a laptop from Mason Crest ARE NOT eligible to receive another laptop during this distribution

•             Should we distribute our entire supply of laptops, we will not have any on hand to use as backups in the event that a student laptop malfunction

We will continue to follow the guidelines set by the Centers for Disease Control and the Fairfax County Health Department. To limit the amount of people in the building at any one time, we will be using the Kiss n’ Ride line and a distance physical line outside the building. This may mean that you will have to wait in the Kiss n' Ride line, or stand outside, while we check out laptops to students for a period of up to or over an hour. Please be prepared for this possibility regarding dress and student engagement during the wait. We also ask that each student come with only ONE parent to help minimize crowds.

Upon entering the building, we will also be asking you the following pre-screening health questions to see if you are eligible for picking up a laptop at that time:

Miss you all,

Mr. Aiello, Mr. Pratt, and Ms. Shin

Centreville ES

Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, Redskins players Adrian Peterson & Ryan Kerrigan, and NBA Star Steph Curry all took time to record videos to help a

@fcpsnews teacher surprise her students for a star-studded distance learning lesson

Here's the video @StephenCurry30 sent to a 3rd grade class in Centreville.

This was part of the teacher's 'ABC Exercise Challenge', during which students do a certain exercise that corresponds with each letter of the alphabet.

Steph had to pick 5 letters, but no repeats!
