FCPS Distance Learning YouTube Channel

The language arts and mathematics instructional videos that are being aired on Apple 21 are now available on demand on the FCPS Distance Learning YouTube Channel found here. Teachers and parents now have access to playlists which support distance learning, the instructional packet sent home, and classroom teacher instruction. The site will be updated regularly as videos are developed and finalized.

Distance Learning Printed Packets

As of today, we have 6568 ‘go paperless’ requests.  Please keep in mind that packets families may receive printed packets for at least one week after they request to go paperless. FCPS is providing Learning Packets as one part of the distance learning plan. The activities in the packet provide opportunities for students to practice and apply skills while supporting student needs for engagement, critical thinking, and movement. Teachers can provide more information about how your students can use the learning packets during independent study time.

Learning at Home: Support for Families:

The Learning at Home: Support for Families web page provides information about the role of families and caregivers in the FCPS Distance Learning Plan. This site is updated often – please return often for additional guidance and resources.

Q and A

What is the status of the restorative justice program?

The Student and Safety and Wellness (SSAW) office has made plans to have virtual restorative justice interventions available to all schools.  These services may be accessed as FCPS enters a time of online instruction and behaviors of concern may need to be addressed in a proactive manner or in response related to the use of technologies.

Restorative practices for prevention
RJ practitioners will continue to cover requests for Restorative Practices prevention processes in their assigned regions.

These RJ interventions would be one of the options available to schools for prevention of escalating on-line conflict or concerns related to the use of technologies.

What is the status of alcohol and other drug prevention and intervention support?

The Student Safety and Wellness (SSAW) Office has made plans to have virtual alcohol and other drug prevention support available to all schools through pyramid substance abuse specialists.  These services are accessible and behaviors of concern may need to be addressed in a proactive manner or in response related to the use of substances.
