Administrative (Shared)

Special Education Admin Resource Teacher (SPART)

Description: Performs a variety of instructional and support tasks to assist the CTE Summer Camps administration, teachers, and other staff with curriculum modifications to support special education students; interprets IEP and other information as needed; collaborates with the teachers, instructional assistants, and camp assistants about the daily management of students needing assistance.

Qualifications: Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education with endorsement in Special Education plus experience with SEA-STARS and knowledge of special education procedures required. CTE experience preferred. Ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students, and families; ability to communicate effectively.

Operational/Support (Shared)

CTE Camps Camp Assistant

Description: Assists teachers with check-in and set-up; check-out and classroom clean-up; aids teachers with classroom activities; distributes and collects materials during class sessions; accompanies campers from class to class; supervises lunch with campers; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties in the morning and afternoon; assist in all fire drills and safety checks. 

Qualifications: Experience working with students in a summer camp setting; preferably CTE Summer Camps. FCPS Career and Technical Education (CTE) students with prior experience working at the camp, preferred.

CTE Camps Office Assistant

Description: Performs a variety of general office duties required to support the Site Director and CTE Educational Specialist in the CTE Summer Camps office, duties include responding to requests for information, maintaining and updating records and preparing documents; assists with site and program close-out, supply distribution, collection and inventory. Duties may include other support tasks as required or requested.

Qualifications: Any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from high school plus some general office experience. CTE Summer Camp office experience preferred. Can demonstrate knowledge of basic business office practices and procedures; ability to use assignment-specific computers, software and peripheral equipment.

CTE Camps Student Assistant

Description: Assists teachers with check-in and set-up; check-out and classroom clean-up; aids teachers with classroom activities; distributes and collects materials during class sessions; accompanies campers from class to class; supervises lunch with campers; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties in the morning and afternoon; assists in all fire drills and safety checks.

Qualifications: No prior experience is required. FCPS Career and Technical Education (CTE) students, preferred.

CTE Camps Future Teacher Intern

Description: Aids teachers with check-in and set-up; check-out and classroom clean-up; assists teachers with classroom activities; distributes and collects materials during class sessions; accompanies campers from class to class; supervises lunch with campers; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties in the morning and afternoon; assists in all fire drills and safety checks.

Qualifications: Must be enrolled in the Teachers for Tomorrow program or Early Childhood Careers classes during the 2023 - 24 school year.

Tech Adventure Camp – Instructional

Tech Adventure Camp Teacher

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on career and technical education exploration for students in Kindergarten through grade 1 or grades 2 through 5; orders and completes the inventory of supplies; works with student assistants to provide a safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon.

Qualifications: Must hold an active license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Experience teaching Career and Technical Education (CTE) or Elementary Education, preferred.

Tech Adventure Camp Culinary Teacher

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on culinary exploration for students in Kindergarten through grade 1 or grades 2 through 5; orders and completes inventory of supplies; works with student assistants to provide a safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon.

Qualifications: Must hold an active license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Experience teaching Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS), preferred.

Tech Adventure Camp Instructor

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on career and technical education exploration for students in Kindergarten through grade 1 or grades 2 through 5; orders and completes inventory of supplies; works with student assistants to provide a safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon.

Qualifications: Experience working and providing instruction to elementary-level students. Enrolled in an approved teacher education preparatory program at a college or university or participated in a teacher introduction course in high school, preferred. Ability to engage students in active learning; proficiency in the use of technology; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

CTE Summer Academy – Instructional

Business + Information Technology Teacher

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on business and computer science exploration for students in grades 6 through 11; orders and completes inventory of supplies; works with student assistants to provide a safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon.

Qualifications: Must hold an active license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Experience teaching Business and Information Technology (BIT), preferred.

Family + Consumer Sciences Teacher

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on culinary arts, fashion, and interior design exploration for students in grades 6 through 11; orders and completes inventory of supplies; purchases perishable foods; works with student assistants to provide safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon; maintains clean and healthy classroom climate.

Qualifications: Must hold an active license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Experience teaching Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS), preferred.

Health + Medical Sciences Teacher

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on nutrition, veterinary science, and health exploration for students in grades 6 through 11; orders and completes inventory of supplies; works with student assistants to provide a safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon.

Qualifications: Must hold an active license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Experience teaching Health and Medical Sciences (HMS), preferred.

Marketing Teacher

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on marketing and advertising exploration for students in grades 6 through 11; orders and completes inventory of supplies; works with student assistants to provide a safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon.

Qualifications: Must hold an active license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Experience teaching Marketing, preferred.

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on design, engineering, programming, and science exploration for students in grades 6 through 11; orders and completes inventory of supplies; works with student assistants to provide a safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon.

Qualifications: Must hold an active license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Experience teaching Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM), preferred.

Trade + Industrial Teacher

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on auto technology, electrical, construction, criminal justice, JROTC, TV and media production, or cosmetology exploration for students in grades 6 through 11; orders and completes inventory of supplies; works with student assistants to provide a safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon.

Qualifications: Must hold an active license issued by the Virginia Department of Education. Experience teaching Trade and Industrial (TI), preferred.

CTE Summer Academy Instructor

Description: Plans and implements the daily educational program with a focus on one of the career and technical education program areas for students in grades 6 through 11; orders and completes inventory of supplies; works with student assistants to provide a safe and effective learning environment; maintains camper discipline; takes daily attendance; assists with bus and kiss-n-ride duties each morning and afternoon.

Qualifications: Experience working and providing instruction to secondary-level students. Enrolled in an approved teacher education preparatory program at a college or university or participated in a teacher introduction course in high school, preferred. Ability to engage students in active learning; proficiency in the use of technology; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
