Testing and Identification Timeline for Students Attending FCPS

Testing Schedule
Schools administer tests to all FCPS students according to the timeline below. Students must be enrolled in and attending FCPS in order to be tested. One ability test score is required for the screening process.
December 1-7, 2020
- Naglieri Nonverbal Test administered to certain students in Grades 2-7 who do not have an ability test score on file.
April 6-10, 2021 (Tentative)
- Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test administered to all students in Grade 1 and certain students in Grades 2-7 who need an ability test score for spring Level IV screening.
Identification Schedule: Fall 2020
October 8, 2020
- Advanced Academic Programs Level IV Referral Form for new FCPS students (enrolled after January 2020) due to AART at attending elementary school or school counselor at the middle school
January 2021
- Central Selection Committee meets
- Eligibility decisions sent
January 19, 2021
- Appeals due to AAP office
January 26, 2021
- Eligible students in Grades 3-8 may attend full-time AAP sites beginning second semester
Identification Schedule: Spring 2021
December 1, 2020
- Advanced Academic Programs Level IV Referral Form and optional materials for students in Grade 2 who are not in pool and students in Grades 3–7 due to Advanced Academic Resource Teacher (AART) at attending elementary school or school counselor at the middle school.
- PLEASE NOTE:
- The screening pool will be announced on November 1, 2020.
- If you would like your student screened you may submit a referral from September 8 - December 1, 2020. No exceptions to the referral deadline are made.
March 2021
- Central Selection Committee meets
April 5-6, 2021
- Eligibility decisions sent
April 14-30, 2021
- Full-time AAP orientations held at Level IV sites (elementary school only).
May 13, 2021
- Appeals due to AAP office
Fall 2021
- Eligible students in Grades 3-8 may attend full-time AAP sites beginning first semester
