FCPS to Host Instructional Job Fair on July 11, 2018

To meet hiring needs in instructional areas, we are hosting a job fair on July 11, 2018, during which networking and interviewing opportunities with representatives from various FCPS schools will be available. 

Fairfax County School Board Approves Changes to SR&R

The Fairfax County School Board has approved a number of changes to the Student Rights and Responsibilities regulation, effective with the 2018-19 school year, including language in the student dress code, chronic and unexcused absences, social media use, vaping, and suspension of students in grades K-3.

FCPS Announces Summer Food Program Locations

Fairfax County Public Schools will participate in the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s summer food service program for children, a program established to ensure that students who qualify for free and reduced-price meals during the school year continue to receive nutritious meals when school is not in session.

FCPS Plans Changes to Recess Under New Virginia Law

As a result of a new Virginia law that goes into effect July 1, Fairfax County Public Schools is providing new guidelines for elementary physical education and recess to accommodate at least 30 minutes of recess per day for elementary school students.
