FCEDA to present May 20 ‘Back to Business’ online conference on pandemic recovery strategies

The Fairfax County Economic Development Authority (FCEDA) is presenting an online conference, “Back to Business: Resilience, Recovery and Moving Forward,” on Wednesday, May 20 from 8 a.m. to 11:10 a.m.

During three panel discussions, attendees will learn directly from area businesses about how they responded to an adverse situation, how their business has pivoted and adapted using technology, and how they plan to return to the office. Participants can attend any or all sessions of the conference.

Cox names Heroes of Distance Learning

In honor of Teacher Appreciation Week, Cox Local VA is recognizing Virginia teachers as Heroes of Distance Learning. Out of the 156 teachers nominated, Cox named 11 of them as Heroes of Distance Learning. Six of the top prize winners are from FCPS. They were awarded $1,000 for a virtual classroom makeover. Six additional teachers, including one from FCPS, were awarded $200. Distance Learning Heroes

Join us online for a presentation featuring the Herndon High School psychologist, school social workers, and SOSA. It will address stressors, stress management, and coping skills and strategies for dealing with these uncertain times and the stress people may be experiencing during the Stay At Home order and social distancing.
