Great Day of Distance Learning!

Good afternoon Mighty Red Birds,

Mr. Hirsch, the staff and I are so excited about the learning that is happening today.  We have had good attendance and everything is going smoothly.  Mr. Hirsch and I have enjoyed participating in morning meetings, poetry lessons and learning how students continue to reflect on Positivity Project traits.  Thank you for your patience as we have endured through this Distance Learning journey.

Westlawn ES

Dear Westlawn Families,

We are excited and ready for another week of distance learning. I've heard from families who are thankful for the consistency in the lessons and contact that the Westlawn teachers offered last week. The teachers have worked within their teams and across the school to prepare and provide learning sessions to students in English and Spanish. Despite the difficulties that FCPS faced with connectivity, our teachers never gave up and were ready everyday with creative and engaging lessons. Teachers were in touch with students with videos, choice boards, and personal contact. We are so appreciative of our teachers' efforts to stay connected to families through emails, text messages, phone calls,FaceTime and video chats.

Thank YOU families for your perseverance. We realize the challenges that you face at home with new routines for your child's learning along with your home and job commitments.

Colvin Run ES

Dear CRES families,

It has been wonderful seeing so many students on our Google Meet platform last Thursday and again this morning.  We appreciate your ongoing support for our teachers and students as we all worked to ‘roll out’ our synchronous face-to-face learning platform, in addition to our many asynchronous learning resources and opportunities.

Take care,

Mr. Junge and Mr. Soderstrom
