Background

On July 27, 2017, the School Board confirmed that there was a compelling need to change the name of J.E.B. Stuart High School. Following the July 27 vote, the Superintendent implemented a process per FCPS regulation 8170.7 to determine a recommendation for the new name. This included a community meeting to solicit suggestions and held an advisory vote by households within the school’s attendance area. The School Board voted on October 26, 2017 to rename the school Justice High School. More information about the process is available here.
