Providing guidance to staff, families, and students in areas related to the implementation of and compliance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, as amended.

The Office of Special Education Procedural Support is dedicated to providing responsive, student-centered, collaborative guidance and leadership related to the implementation of and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations as they pertain to special education.

Enrolling a Child with an Individualized Education Program (IEP)

To enroll a child with an IEP please contact the school or center where your child will be enrolled.

If you have contacted your child's school and still have questions regarding enrollment, please contact the Procedural Support Liaison (PSL) for your school.  You will need to know your school's pyramid to identify your school's PSL.  To find your school's pyramid, search for your child's school using the school name and then click on the school name.

Virginia Department of Education Survey

The Virginia Department of Education is asking all parents of children who receive special education services to complete a survey regarding their child's services. You will receive a paper survey with a postage paid self-addressed envelope from your child's school. The survey closes on December 14, 2018.
