State Operated Programs

Educational programs supervised and fully funded by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE).

Juvenile Detention Center (JDC) – Fairfax

The educational program at the JDC is staffed with FCPS teachers and serves approximately 70 males and females aged 7 to 17.  When a student leaves, the JDC educational program mails grades, test scores, and record of hours spent in class to the student's last school placement and home.  

Northern Virginia Mental Health Institute – Falls Church

An FCPS special education teacher provides tutoring and individual instruction to patients (ages 18 to 21) to:
•    remediate academic deficiencies
•    promote high school continuation
•    prepare students for the GED® 
The program strives to reintegrate students into his or her community school program.

Care Connection for Children-Falls Church

An FCPS teacher provides outreach and support services to children with special health care needs.

Blood Disorders Program of Northern Virginia – Falls Church

An FCPS teacher provides outreach and support services to children with blood disorders.
