Proposed Capital Improvement Program for Fiscal Years 2025-29

The Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) annually reviews current student membership analysis and facilities data to identify future capacity needs and capital requirements.  The Proposed CIP for Fiscal Year (FY) 2025-29 includes a five-year membership projection, program capacity utilization, and potential solutions to consider for each school with a capacity deficit.

The Program identifies projects such as new construction, capacity enhancement, renovation, and potential site acquisitions.  Needs are included in the schedule of capital improvements for the next five years, and the Capital Construction Cash Flow (Cash Flow) tracks the funding allocation for these projects.  Actual completion dates for capital projects depend on cash flow and debt service limitations established by the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.  More detailed information is available below.

Fairfax County Public Schools' Superintendent Michelle C. Reid has released the school system's Proposed CIP for FY 2025-29.
