Filing a Complaint of Discrimination

The Human Resources Office of Equity and Employee Relations (EER) takes all complaints of discrimination seriously.

To file a complaint of discrimination, you may contact the Office of Equity and Employee Relations (EER) directly at 571-423-3070, complete a complaint form, or put your concerns in writing. A complaint should be filed immediately following the event giving rise to the complaint but no later than one year after. Once completed, the form or letter should be forwarded to:

Office of Equity and Employee Relations
Department of Human Resources
Gatehouse Administration Center I
8115 Gatehouse Road, Suite 2500
Falls Church, VA 22042

or

Faxed to: 571-423-3057

Upon receipt, EER staff will review your completed form or letter and contact you to finalize the process. Please be advised that by completing a form or letter of complaint and returning it, you have not filed a formal complaint as required under FCPS policy.

All complaints will be kept confidential except to the extent that limited disclosure may be necessary for the purpose of conducting a full and fair investigation, providing an opportunity for the accused to respond, taking remedial action, and responding to government inquiry or legal action. The complainant, accused party(s), and appropriate administrative staff will be advised of the outcome of the investigation. FCPS policy prohibits retaliation against an individual for filing a complaint or participating in the complaint process.
