Board of Trustees

ERFC is administered by a Board of Trustees, which holds all of the contributions in trust and supervises the investment of the trust's assets by registered investment advisors. The Board is composed of seven members. Three are appointed by the Fairfax County School Board and three are elected by active ERFC members. Those six Board members recommend someone who is not affiliated with FCPS for the seventh position, which is then approved by the Fairfax County School Board.

2024 ERFC Election Notification

ERFC Trustee: The Educational Employees’ Supplementary Retirement System of Fairfax County (ERFC) Board of Trustees will elect one person to serve as trustee. The ERFC Board is the governing body of ERFC and supports ERFC’s mission to enhance the financial security of members through prudent financial stewardship.

Required Materials: Interested active members who seek to be candidates must submit a: 
1) Nomination petition 
2) Statement of contribution

Notice 4771 outlines the election process and is available via BoardDocs.

Deadline: Required materials must be received by the Office Employee Relations via email to skburris@fcps.edu by April 26, 2024.

Election Date: An electronic election will be held May 14-16, 2024.

The ERFC Board of Trustees meets monthly throughout the year (excluding February, August, and November). Meetings may be rescheduled or additional meetings may be added as necessary, with all such changes posted here on the website.
