Committee Purpose

8 VAC 20-120-50 - Each local education agency or region shall establish a general career and technical education advisory committee to provide recommendations to the local educational agency (or board) on current job needs and the relevancy of career and technical education programs offered and to assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the local plan and application.

2017-18 Committee Charge

Increase the CTE Advisory Committee’s understanding of the implementation of CTE curriculum with emphasis at the local school level through visits to the schools and engagement with teachers and students. Develop a clear understanding of employment needs and opportunities for partnerships leading toward greater utilization of public private partnerships to support CTE programs and teacher professional development.
