How FLSA relates to FCPS
Fairfax County Public Schools (FCPS) complies with the federal Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). All employees assigned to the unified scale in job groups US-19 and below (e.g.: technicians, maintenance, office personnel, school-based assistants, attendants, custodial and food service personnel), temporary and hourly personnel, and other positions as deemed eligible by the Department of Human Resources, are considered nonexempt under the law and are entitled to overtime pay for all hours over 40 in a workweek.
