ESY Speech-Language Pathologist

Speech-Language Pathologist, Preschool/Elementary ESY

Description:  Serves students with diverse needs and significant communication disorders in all grade levels through a continuum of services to promote curriculum access, participation, and skill maintenance. Implements and documents therapy to address student IEP goals defined on the ESY IEP and serves as a resource for addressing student communication needs. Collaborates with special education teachers and specialists and supports division wide and department goals. Position requires the flexibility in serving multiple sites on an itinerant schedule. 

Qualifications: Must hold a current Virginia BASLP license in Speech Language Pathology (Board of Audiology and Speech Pathology)

ESY Occupational Therapist

Occupational Therapist, Preschool/Elementary ESY

Description: Provides educationally relevant services to students receiving special education services. Focuses on the development of skills and/or environmental accommodation and modification necessary for students to participate in and benefit from school tasks, activities, roles and routines within the school setting and educational programs, and to engage in the occupations of self-care, learning, productivity, leisure, and social participation. Must possess sufficient strength, dexterity, and mobility to perform or assist in performing all assigned tasks. Position requires flexibility to serve multiple sites on an itinerant schedule and to provide training to ESY staff around physical management, equipment use, and supporting self-care.

Qualifications: This position requires graduation from an accredited occupational therapy program, successful completion of the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy exam, and licensure from the Virginia Board of Medicine.

Description: Provides educationally relevant services to students receiving special education services. Focuses on the acquisition of basic motor skills and environmental accommodations necessary for functional mobility within the school environment and facilitating the physical capability for participating with peers.  Must possess sufficient strength, dexterity, and mobility to perform or assist in performing all assigned tasks. Position requires the flexibility to serve multiple sites on an itinerant schedule and to provide training to ESY staff around physical management, equipment use, and supporting self-care.

Qualifications: This position requires graduation from an accredited physical therapy program, successful completion of the National Physical Therapy exam, and licensure from the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.

Physical Therapy Assistant ESY (Hourly)

Description: Assists the physical therapist with carrying out the therapeutic provisions of an IEP for students receiving special education services. Must possess sufficient strength, dexterity, and mobility to perform or assist in performing all assigned tasks. This position requires the flexibility to serve multiple sites on an itinerant schedule and to provide training to ESY staff around physical management, equipment use, and supporting self-care.

Qualifications: This position requires graduation from an accredited physical therapy assistant program; successful completion of the National Physical Therapy (PTA) exam; and licensure from the Virginia Board of Physical Therapy.
