Bridge to Kindergarten Teacher

Description: Supports a successful transition into Kindergarten for students with little to no experience in PreK. Assists students with building executive functioning skills and routines; provides and is accountable for the planning, assessment, instruction, communication, human relations, safety, and management of a Bridge to Kindergarten classroom. Ability to attend all face-to-face training provided prior to and during the session. 

Qualifications: Must hold a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education with endorsement in Early/Primary Education, Prek-3 or Early Childhood Special Education, plus one (1) year of early childhood classroom teaching experience. Ability to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that nurtures the social and emotional well-being of students.

Bridge to Kindergarten Instructional Assistant

Description: Performs a variety of paraprofessional curriculum and instructional tasks to support teachers and other professional staff in a Bridge to Kindergarten classroom; assists with the daily management of the students and classroom. Ability to attend all face-to-face or virtual training provided prior to and during the session.

Qualifications: Graduation from high school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required. Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with school staff and students; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
