Extended School Year - Paraprofessional and Operational Employment Opportunities
ESY Paraprofessional: Preschool, Community A, Community B, Foundations, Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH), and Comprehensive Services (CSS)
Overview: Works with students who may have learning, emotional, or cognitive disabilities; hearing or vision impairments; and/or autism; supports instruction based on student needs in curriculum, communication, life, and social skills; assists with classroom and behavior management; implements individual student reinforcement systems; assists with routine care, including personal hygiene, feeding, and toileting; performs certain medical procedures or gives medication under supervision and with appropriate instruction; and aids medically fragile students and those physically impaired, which may involve transferring to and from wheelchairs to floor, table, or therapy devices. High school diploma or equivalent, with the completion of the Best Practices for Teaching Students with Autism Modules 1-8 or ABA Fundamentals, required. Two years of college preferred. Experience at the age level and community of the ESY position assignment preferred.

School Health Aide Positions
Overview: Provides care to sick and injured students within the school and on school grounds according to established guidelines; facilitates administration of medications; makes appropriate student referrals; records clinic visits and care provided on a daily basis; compiles and submits monthly clinic statistics; performs special health care procedures such as epinephrine injections, glucagon injections, and nebulization treatments. This position will support both ESY and the Summer Learning programs, with scheduled training on June 22-June 24.

Knowledge of CDC/safety protocols and procedures; proficiency in the use of technology; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with school staff members, families, and the community; ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
