International Mentoring Day

Locally, it’s International Mentoring Day.

Today is International Mentoring Day.  A day to reflect on the power of mentoring and how it contributes to creating a better world.

Mentors can be placed in a school that works for them geographically during the school day, and Fairfax County Public Schools is prepared to help you become one.  We’re seeking 2,000 caring and responsible adults to commit 30 minutes a week.

Individuals are encouraged to mentor, and we also work with businesses and community groups helping them establish an FCPS Mentoring Ignite Partnership.

Help positively affect the trajectory of a young person’s life – and yours.

The Foundation for FCPS works to raise funds for the MentorWorks program.  Your financial gift will assist program coordinators to build community with mentors and mentees through special events, activities and field trips. Enrichment activities and field trips build community and eliminate gaps in opportunity, access and achievement. Additional funding can also increase the number of students who can participate in this valuable program.
