Virginia Tire & Auto has partnered with Fairfax County Public Schools Career and Technical Education team for several years, supporting our district's automotive technology programs.

They do this important work because Virginia Tire & Auto knows workforce development!

Workforce Development is Learning Hard and Soft Skills On the Job
Workforce Development:
Learning Hard and Soft Skills While On-the-Job

Throughout the years they have run a multi-week internship program where students experience the business firsthand, including the call center, customer intake, workflow management, vehicle diagnosis and repair, parts management, and vehicle delivery.

Virginia Tire & Auto has taken their partnership a step further by providing interns with product installation demonstrations and industry training from the Tire Industry Association so that they learn about industry regulations and safety.

Their soft skills trainingresume building, interview training and practice, and job shadow opportunitiesalso works well. So well, that some twenty student interns have become employees of Virginia Tire & Auto.

Thank you to the entire team at Virginia Tire & Auto and congratulations on being named a Virginia School Boards Association 2017 Business Honor Roll recipient.
