Summer Learning Programs: English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
ESOL Language and Literacy Connections
This free online class provides FCPS middle and high school ESOL students the opportunity to engage in thematic lessons in an online environment with an ESOL teacher. Through this three week class, students will continue developing their academic and reading and writing skills in an online discussion with an ESOL teacher. This class is pass/fail only and fulfills the online requirement toward graduation.
Dates: Wednesday, June 27 to Wednesday, July 18, 2018
Time: Morning and evening sections are available.
Accessing the Online Course:
Students will need a computer with internet access and headphones with a microphone. Students may borrow headphones with a microphone from their base school. Students will not be able to access and fully complete the online course using iPads, iPhones, smart phones, and tablets.

English 9 and 10 for ELs
The English 9 for ELs course is designed for FCPS ELP level 1, 2, and 3 students who have been unsuccessful in English 9. This course is aligned to the WIDA English language development (ELD) standards and the English 9 SOL. This is a SOL aligned course, which is tested in 11th grade.
English 10 for ELs course is designed for FCPS ELP level 1, 2, and 3 students who have been unsuccessful in English 10. This course is aligned to the WIDA English language development (ELD) standards and the English 10 SOL. This is a SOL aligned course, which is tested in 11th grade.
