Fairfax County Public Schools Dual Enrollment Test Locations

Select FCPS high schools offer the Virginia Placement Test (VPT) to their own students at various times during the spring. Students should check with their school counselor regarding the registration process for those testing opportunities.

Options for Virginia Placement Test (VPT) testing for FCPS students Dual Enrolled with NOVA 2020-21

  1. Select FCPS high schools offer the VPT to their own students at various times during the spring. Students should check with their school counselor about those testing opportunities.
  2. Regional Testing Sites for the VPT are available at the dates/locations below. Students who plan to take the VPT on one of the dates below need to register.

All tests require a current photo ID and a NOVA Student ID number and username (received at the end of the NOVA application process.) Acceptable forms of ID include:

  • driver's license
  • NOVACard
  • passport
  • personal ID from the DMV
  • military ID
  • green card

Registration

Students must use their FCPS G Suite Accounts in order to register using this form. Students must register in order to take a test on one of the dates above. NO walk-ins will be allowed.

You can also take the VPT at any NOVA campus testing center.

You should allow at least two to three hours to complete the English placement test. Remember to bring your NOVA ID along with a photo ID.

VPT is an untimed test. Students with an IEP or 504 requiring academic accommodations for a placement test should visit NOVA’s Disability Services web page and follow the instructions for requesting accommodations prior to taking your placement test.

Please note that it may take up to three weeks or longer to respond to some accommodation requests during peak registration times.
