Sign Language Interpreter Accommodations

Use of sign language interpreters is one of many accommodations available for employees who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Use of sign language interpreters is one of many accommodations available for employees who are deaf or hard of hearing.  Other accommodations available include subtitles, captioning, and assistive technology devices such as UbiDuo. Employees are encouraged to contact EER to discuss these options. EER has an established process for requesting, scheduling, and canceling requests for sign language interpreter services.

Submitting a Request

Job applicants needing sign language interpreter services should ask their employment services representative to submit a request form on their behalf.

Those needing sign language interpreter services should fill out this form and submit to the Office of Equity and Employee Relations at SignLanguageInterpreterServiceRequest@fcps.edu.

A request form must be submitted to EER at least three (3) business days before the scheduled event. We make every effort to provide services but cannot guarantee a sign language interpreter will be provided, especially if we do not receive 3-days notice. FCPS is charged for a minimum of two hours. Requests lasting longer than two hours require a second interpreter. 

Cancellations must be made 3 business days prior to the scheduled event.
