"I decided to join the teaching profession because I love being able to expose students to new opportunities," says Destinee Freeman, a fourth-grade teacher at Riverside Elementary School. "Had it not been for the teachers I had growing up, I wouldn't have been pushed as hard as I was to be successful. I want to make a difference in students and families lives."
