  Career Connections The FCPS connection to information for parents on careers and colleges.
  Career Cruising Get the login and password from the Career Center then explore careers, colleges, scholarships, financial aid, etc. with your child.
  Campus Security Searchable database of statistics for campuses and surrounding area. Be sure to read the introductory page for full understanding.
  For Families with Special Needs Sites for families of children with disabilities and special needs.
  IPEDS COOL Provided by the U.S. Department of Education, the IPEDS COOL website is one way to research the differences between colleges and how much it costs to attend college.
  Kuder Provided by the Commonwealth of Virginia, students have access to a validated assessments, a college database, a financial aid database, and a life-time portfolio. Login information is in the Career Center
  Mapping Your Future Choose from English and Spanish.
  NACAC National Association for College Admissions Counseling - This site is focused on the professional, but there is also a lot of information for parents.
  O-net online Interactive search for occupations and skills matching.
  Parent Magazine Online version of the well-known magazine. Includes news and information about pregnancy, ages and stages, health, family finances, and travel. Readers can search for articles by topic.
  ParentsPlace Focuses on the first stage of parenthood - from conception through the first year of life. Includes infertility, prenancy, adoption, twins, childbirth, postpartum stage, and infancy. Operated by iVillage, a women's media company and online information source.
  Planning & Preparing for the Future Consider all the information offered
  PTA, National Resource section includes articles (some in Spanish) on school success; family communication; health and safety; drugs and alcohol; and family fun. PTAs may reproduce articles; other organizations must request permission. Site also includes education news and legislative updates.
  SCHEV The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia -
This site covers basics and Virginia schools thoroughly. Click on Parents.& Parents of High School Students.
  Smart Moves for a Better Future "Your High School Guidebook to College" published by SHEV, the State Council of Higher Education in Virginia. This is a large file.
