General Information:
The Woodson High School Clinic is open from 7:15 to 2:15 on student attendance days. The Clinic Room Aide will be in the clinic during those hours to assist students with any MINOR school health problem, and to assist your student in taking medication that the parent has provided to the school. The School Nurse is in the building most mornings, and can be contacted by the Clinic Aide, to assist in any health concern for your student. If your student becomes ill or injured at school, every effort will be made to notify you, and if you are not available, anyone you have designated on the Emergency Care Information form. Only these individuals will be contacted either to excuse or take your student home. If the clinic contacts you to excuse your student from school, the clinic must have voice contact with the responsible adult to dismiss the student from school grounds. In an emergency, 911 will be called prior to contacting the parent.

Medications:
All medications (prescription and over the counter) brought to school must be kept in the clinic with the exception of inhalers and Epipens which may be carried by the student with approval of the physician. All medications must have an FCPS medication form to keep medications in the school. The parent/guardian must sign Part I and II for over the counter medications for headache, muscle ache, orthodontic pain, and menstrual cramps. The Parent/Guardian may also sign for antibiotics and antivirals. All other prescription medication require a physician’s signature in Part II. Over the counter medication for specific symptoms not previously mentioned, such as Benadryl and Sudafed can be given with parent/guardian signature for 3 days. After that time physician signature must be obtained. All medication must be in the original container and labeled according to FCPS medication regulation 2102. For specific questions or concerns, please call the Clinic at 703-503-4610/4611.
