Planning and preparing for the future begins early. This is an ongoing process that includes investigating self, career options, and post-secondary options.

9th Grade Career Activities
Counselors meet with students in small groups in the early fall. This Freshman Orientation focuses on the transition to high school. Balancing the adjustment to block scheduling, additional course work/expectations, and added social pressures are discussed. Additional topics include the role of the guidance counselor, graduation and SOL requirements, functions of the Career Center, availability of after school help, clubs, and activities. Discussion groups that provide a forum to share feelings, thoughts and experiences are also offered.
