Via
Metrorail:
- Take the
ORANGE
line to the Vienna/Fairfax-GMU Metrorail Stop. (Click
here for the Metrorail Info.) At the top of the
escalator, turn left to the NORTH parking lot to the CUE
buses.
- Take
the GREEN - 1
route. At Main St. and Pickett Road (Fair City Mall),
the bus turns right onto Main Street. Get off at the
second bus stop on Main Street (Whitacre Road) and cross
Main Street to the school.
Woodson Adult Education Offices, Woodson Center, FCPS Information
Technology Offices, the Woodson Attendance Office and Clinic
have entrances on Whitacre Road. Woodson High School's
other offices face Main Street. (Click

Via
Metrobus & CUE bus: Woodson
is served by the CUE GREEN-1
and GREEN-2
lines. (Click
here for CUE information.) Woodson is also served
by Metrobus Routes 29K which travels along Main Street in
front of the school and 29N which comes within one block at
the intersection of Main Street and Pickett Road. (Click

From
I-495 / Capital Beltway:
- Take Exit
52A from the Beltway, Virginia Route 236 West, Little River
Turnpike, towards Fairfax. Follow Route 236 Westbound
for a total of 3.3 miles. (Note in about 3 miles,
Route 236 becomes Main Street, as it enters the City of
Fairfax.)
- Shortly
after entering the City of Fairfax you will see Fair City
Mall on your RIGHT.
- Immediately
after Fair City Mall, turn LEFT at a traffic light onto
Whitacre Road.
- Once on
Whitacre, there are three driveway entrances:
- Use the
third entrance for athletic fields.
- Use the
second entrance for
GED, Driver's Ed, the Woodson
Adult High School, the Woodson Center, FCPS Department
of Information Technology Offices, and for Attendance
and Clinic (Nurse's Office.) This is the most convenient
entrance for students dropped off late in the day.
- Use the
first driveway entrance for the main office, guidance,
and the gymnasium.

From
the West: From
Centreville and Manassas via I-66: Take exit 57A,
US 50 East towards Fairfax and follow directions for US 50
below.
From
Dulles Airport, Leesburg, Herndon, and Reston via Virginia
Rte. 7 or Virginia Rte. 267: Take Virginia Rte.
28 (Sully Road) or Virginia Rte. 7100 (Fairfax County Parkway)
SOUTH to US 50, and take ramp to US 50 East and follow directions
for US 50 below.
From
Chantilly via US Route 50:
- Head
inbound towards Washington, DC on US Route 50 East (Lee-Jackson
Memorial Highway).
- Just
after the traffic light for Jermantown Road you will come
to the junction of US 29, US 50, and Virginia Route 236.
There will be an Office Depot on the right at this intersection.
Follow signs for Route 236 East, which will take you straight
through the intersection. Mark your odometer.
Follow Route 236 (Main Street) for 2.5 miles through Old
Town Fairfax City.
- Just
before you get to Woodson, you will pass a townhouse complex
on the right called Woodson Square. The next traffic
light is Whitacre Road. Turn right onto Whitacre
Road.
- Once
on Whitacre, there are three driveway entrances:
- Use
the third entrance for athletic fields.
- Use
the second entrance
for GED, Driver's Ed, the Woodson Adult High School,
the Woodson Center, FCPS Department of Information Technology

Take I-395
South towards Richmond. Do not use the Express Lanes.
Proceed to Exit 3B (Virginia Route 236 West / Little River
Turnpike). Follow Route 236 Westbound for a total of 7.8
miles. (After about 7.5 miles you enter the City of
Fairfax where Route 236 becomes Main Street.)
Shortly
after entering the City of Fairfax, you will see Fair City
Mall on your RIGHT.
Immediately
after Fair City Mall, turn LEFT at a traffic light onto
Whitacre Road.
Once on

Beltway) South towards Richmond, and follow directions above
from the Beltway. Note:
Only carpools may use I-66 Westbound during afternoon rush
hour. |

Alexandria: Virginia
Route 236 originates in the City of Alexandria as Duke Street,
and changes names to Little River Turnpike near the interchange
with I-395. Visitors from Alexandria may take Duke Street
westbound. Follow Route 236 to the Capital Beltway and
continue straight on Route 236 following the directions above
from the Beltway. |

Woodbridge and I-95 South of Washington:
Take Exit 170B
on I-95 for I-495 North/Beltway (towards Tysons Corner).
Follow directions above from the Beltway.
Alternate
Route Bypassing the Springfield Interchange Reconstruction
Zone: Take
Exit 160B on I-95 for Virginia Route 123 North. Follow
Route 123 to Old Town Fairfax. This is a total distance of
about 14.4 miles. There take a right hand turn onto
Route 236 East, Main Street, and proceed 1.5 miles on Main
Street.
Just before
