SPECIAL EDUCATION REPRESENTATIVE
As
Special Education representatives, the committee provides assistance to
parents to make them aware of resources available to them and helps
parents in their role as advocates for their child. The committee is
willing to share any information they have that will support the
educational, emotional, or social needs of the special education
student.
In
addition, this committee keeps up with new special education
legislation and stays informed as to County Council special education
activities and issues. The committee chair attends School Board
meetings that may have an impact on special education and keeps abreast
of Virginia State Board of Education concerns and decisions.
