| Members of the Class of 2009: Don't forget that you will get to experience the Senior Capstone Project this year! You will get all the information that you need in your English and Government classes in the fall, and you will attend a project approval session in September to make sure your ideas for your project hours and research paper will fit within the parameters of the project. At this point, you might just want to start thinking about ideas for what you might like to do to help your community during your senior year.

We're
Counting on You - Every three years, the commonwealth
of Virginia requires all school districts to conduct a census
of their residents. The census data are used to help determine
equitable distribution of the portion of the state sales tax revenues
designated to support public education programs. Fairfax County
Public Schools also uses the data to help forecast future school
enrollment and new funding requirements. With such vital economic
and planning issues at stake, it is critical that all households
respond to the census—whether or not they have school-age
children. (posted February 29, 2008)
