Nine staff members were feted by their peers during a retirement reception honoring their many years of service. WSHS honors these people and wishes them an active and vibrant retirement. Their expertise, talents, and contributions will be greatly missed by our school community.

Jennifer Beach, English teacher at West Springfield High School, was a finalist for the 2007 Fairfax County Teacher of the Year Award. View this video of her as presented on Channel 21. Her attributes of leadership, mentorship, and scholarship combine to make her a successful classroom teacher. (May 29, 2007)

On Friday, May 25, 2007 parents, faculty, and students gathered to honor the graduating seniors. Their community services, athletic accomplishments, and academic achievments were noted via plaques, certificates, medallions, and scholarships. We commend these seniors for their selflessness, leadership, spirit, and kindness. They are most deserving of their accolades. (May 25, 2007)

Teacher Leadership Development Grant participants gathered Wednesday, August 23, 2006 for a day of collaboration and curriculum development. These leaders shared ideas, planned future staff development activities, and shared their enthusiasm for the upcoming school year. (August 23, 2006)
