and Maureen bring into their lives a wild foal from the annual
Assateague-to-Chincoteague(Virginia) pony swim/roundup, which is still

melancholy donkey, Tigger, the exuberant tiger, and the always cheerful

Zacharia, by Robert C. O'Brien. Nuclear war has

Mighty, by W.R. Philbrook. Also published as The Mighty, Big Max and tiny Kevin are as opposite as
can be, but become best friends as Freak the Mighty, friend to

Witch of Blackbird Pond, by Elizabeth George Speare. In
1687 Kit Tyler is sent from her home in Barbados to live with her aunt
and uncle in Puritan Connecticut, where she befriends an old Quaker
woman.

These books (except the Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Cherry
Ames) are available for loan from the WSHS
Library, which is
open
Monday through Friday from 8:00 to 3:30 beginning July 30.
The loan period is 3
weeks, no renewals, with overdue fines of $1 per non-holiday weekday.
All WSHS Library obligations must be
cleared prior to checkout.
