OTHER INFORMATION:
After 17 years as a medical social worker in Pittsburgh, PA, Mrs. Orens moved with her family to Springfield. She has worked in FCPS for the past 16 years and has loved every minute at West Springfield HS, where both of her adult children graduated. At WSHS she has focused on promoting depression screenings for students, and suicide prevention and depression awareness for parents and faculty. Mrs. Orens has served as the president of the Fairfax Association of School Social Workers and has attended summer leadership meetings with the School Social Work Association of America. Her major loves in life, other than her family, include making beaded jewelry, crocheting, reading, and the Jersey shore.
