Catch of the Cheasapeake

!WELCOME!

     The Cheasapeake Bay earned it's namesake from the Shawnee Indians. While the true definition of the word Chesapeake is unclear; it is roughly translated to mean "Great Salt Oyster Bay". The Cheasapeake Bay is one of the top producers of shellfish and it also supplies a third of the nation's blue crabs.

The Cheasapeake Bay is the home of many different species of aquatic animals. Here is a selection of these different animals and a few that you can munch on.

    Channel Catfish Striped Bass

    Spotted Sea Trout

    Cod
