Echinoderms

Echinodermata

Sea Stars, Sea Cucumbers, Sea Urchins, Brittle Stars, and Sand Dollars

by SEAN MCGHEE

*Organisms in the Phylum Echinodermata have endoskeletons and delicate skins which streach over it.

*Almost all Echinoderms live under the ocean. They move using thousands of tube feet, used for feeding moving and breathing, and they are powered by a internal water vascular system of hydrolic internal canals.

*All 6000 species have a five section body with a mouth in the center.

*People collect all kinds of echinoderms. Such as sand dollar, starfish, and sea urchin skeletons that they buy or find on the beach.
