WSHS Symphonic Orchestra

The Symphonic Orchestra is the premier orchestra at West Springfield High School, and its enrollment is based on a successful audition with the Director. The majority of the students in this ensemble study privately, and representatives are regularly sent to District XI NSVRO and All-State Orchestra events. The WSHS Symphonic Orchestra was selected to perform at the 2005 Virginia Music Educators Conference in Norfolk, VA. The activities for this orchestra include combining with members of the Wind Ensemble to form a full symphony orchestra for at least one concert per year and annual local, regional, and national festivals and competitions at the Grade VI level. To achieve at a high level of excellence, additional responsibilities and after-school commitments are required of this class.
