Journalism, open to students from ninth to
twelfth grades, offers a progressive program that complements the English program of studies. Students learn the language of journalism, develop communication skill in writing different
kinds of articles, analyze news and the process of publication, and become critical readers and viewers of mass media. Students have the opportunity to learn and participate in the practical aspects of journalism including layout, design, desktop publishing, editorial leadership, and business and circulation management. Assuming the responsibilities for a high school newspaper that serves a pluralistic society, students in Journalism III and IV become productive members of the school newspaper, the Oracle
