About Us
We are Janet LaFave and Patrick Quinn, two West Springfield High School seniors in Dr. Foronda's second period Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition class. Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead is one of our core readings, and this project is an accumulation of our knowledge of the work. We will be the first to admit that we are not the most valid sources to quote, nor are we infallible; rather, we have made this presentation to help spark ideas for possible themes to look for when studying this work. We do not intend to downplay our capabilities. We are both doing very well in the most demanding courses at an excellent high school. Combined, we have an extensively broad education, which has assisted the building of our "bridges." Although we do not necessarily agree with the positions of Stoppard in the themes we have explored, we do firmly believe that the themes are valid interpretations of the work. We have gone to great lengths in trying to create an original interpretation of the work to help foster creativity in further examination of the work.
We do not intend this page to be a substitute for a thorough reading of the work; we merely wish to augment a good understanding of the work. Therefore, we have tried to provide a superficial summary, which will only help recall. Our "bridges" are solid in their grounding, but they purposefully do not follow a formal paper outline with clear-cut theses and body paragraphs. We hope we have provided a good starting point in the understanding of this work. Good luck with the rest of your analysis!
