MYRTLE

Myrtle can only be described by the wife of a hard working man, Wilson, and the mistress to high society and Tom. Tom's wealth lures her hopes of a piece of the upper class and she entertains a fantasy world in order to endure her ungrateful feelings toward Wilson. From the start she claims to have resented marrying Wilson after discovering that "he borrowed somebody's best suit to get married in"(39). A car, which Daisy is driving hits Myrtle, and the only one genuinely upset by her death is Wilson.
