LOUISE BROOKS
Louise Brooks was a film star during the 1920s. She usually chose roles that portrayed the typical flapper. She also appeared on stage in New York in George White Scandals, and Ziegfield Follies. She starred in such Hollywood films as A Social Celebrity (1926), Love 'em and Leave 'em 1926, and Rolled Stockings(1926). The characters that she portrayed in New York were very similar to Jordan Baker's character. She would take on roles that portrayed women who were independent and very verbal.
Gilda Gray

Gilda Gray was a famous flapper, singer, and dancer of the 1920s. She was also the person who invented the hot, new dance of the 1920s called the "shimmy."
An agent, who found her work in New York as a dancer, discovered her. During World War I, she would go to military camps to help raise morale by singing and dancing. Gilda Gray is very similar to the character Daisy in The Great Gatsby. Daisy would go to the military camps and entertain the men who were stationed there. She met Gatsby while entertaining at Camp David.
Felix the Cat
This cartoon represents the struggle Gatsby goes through after acquiring his fortune. Felix represents Gatsby and his new money whereas the old man represents the old money. The mice represent the people Gatsby tries to impress while he is attempting to be accepted by the aristocracy. The basic conflict of this comic strip is that the old man does not want Felix to participate in his life. For Felix to make the old man want him, Felix needs to do something drastic. Felix decides to go and stir up as much trouble as he can for the old man by bringing hundreds of mice to annoy him. The old man finally gives in and lets Felix stay, and he becomes accepted. This is very similar to how Gatsby got people to accept him.
