DAISY Daisy grew up in Louisville. At eighteen years old she was "by far the most popular of all the young girls in Louisville" (79). At that time Daisy was deeply in love with an officer from Camp Taylor, Jay Gatsby. Gatsby was sent to Europe because of the war and consequently Daisy married Tom next June. After half a decade of marriage to Tom, Daisy begins an affair with Gatsby. The affair is abruptly ended with Gatsby's death after which, Tom and Daisy move.
