Paul Robeson


Paul Robeson was an actor during the Harlem Renaissance who starred in many plays by Eugene O'Neill. One of his most famous performances was in Othello. Later, Robeson gained prominence as a singer of black spirituals and working class folk songs.  

His songs still remain popular today. One of his most famous performances came from Showboat. Listen to them here.
