Men's clothing of the 1920s Men's clothing was not emphasized very much in the 1920s. This was a decade for the women. However, during the 1920s men's clothing began to soften up and become more relaxed. Sweaters began to creep into men's wardrobes during the 1920s. Although things were beginning to be a bit more relaxed, the men's wardrobe was not yet completely casual. When men went out to play golf and such, they might wear a casual sweater but not without a tie of some sort.
